Klimbo is a personal AI tutor for children in groep 7 and 8 at a Dutch primary school. Your child practises maths, spelling and reading in Dutch for fifteen minutes a day, with questions that fit what they can already do. Until the official start in January 2027 that is free, and you tell us what could be better.

If your child gets stuck, they choose what help they get.

What to expect

  1. Today

    You create an account, add your child and link the tablet.

  2. The first day

    Your child does a starting check of about half an hour, in a few short parts. After that the tutor knows where practice starts.

  3. After that

    Your child practises for fifteen minutes on most days. You see on your phone how it is going.

  4. Along the way

    Now and then we ask you a few short questions about how it is going and what could be better.

  5. Before the official start

    We email you well in advance what Klimbo will cost.

  6. At the start, planned for January 2027

    You decide yourself whether to carry on. No money is taken until you take out a subscription. If the start moves, it stays free until then.

You can always stop. With one button in the app you delete everything of your family.

All agreements are in the terms.

Questions about taking part

What does Klimbo cost after the official start?

We announce that well before the start. You pay per child, and every child after the first costs less. You decide yourself whether to carry on.

How much of my time does it take as a parent?

Creating an account and linking the tablet takes a few minutes. After that you answer a few short questions now and then, and let us know when something does not work.

My child is in groep 6 or the first year of secondary school. Can they take part?

Yes, everyone is welcome to join. Klimbo is made for groep 7 and 8: your child practises with the groep 7 or 8 material, and the starting check finds where practice starts. We hope to expand to other years.

What happens to my child's data?

From your child we only ask for a first name and the groep. Your child's account and progress are stored in a European database. If your child taps “Ik snap het nog niet” (I still don't get it), Klimbo asks an AI model from Anthropic to show the first step. That model only gets the question, the right answer and the kind of mistake. What your child typed does not go with it, and neither does anything that could identify your child. Anthropic is based in the United States and does not train its models on that data. Everything is in the privacy statement.

I already signed up as a founding family. Does anything change?

No. Your agreement stands, with the lifelong discount and the monthly call, and your founding period runs until the official start. Create an account with the same email address, and you secure your place in the app.
